We catch up with fitness extraordinaire and peach queen Bec Johnson talks clean eating with a fun twist.

Tell us your story! What do you do, qualifications etc

I am a personal trainer, online coach, accredited sports nutritionist & I also have a Diploma In counselling.

You wrote an E book… What was your inspiration for this and what is inside?

Yes, I did! My love for food was definitely the inspiration for it. I was always creative in the kitchen and wanted to share some ‘healthier’ quick and easy sweet treats with my audience.

The majority of the eBook is sweets with a few savoury options thrown in for good measure.

Body positivity has become a big thing recently especially through social media, and many women are working hard to normalise bodies that don't fit into the narrow mould of what is considered attractive. Why is this important in terms of helping women feel more comfortable in their skins?

Each and every one of us has a body that is unique and beautiful but we tend to overlook this as we are comparing and ‘wishing’ for what ‘they have’, not realising someone else is saying that about us. As a woman, our bodies are so wonderful and capable of not only supporting us through life and all the different phases, but also birthing another life which really is incredible.

Where does nutrition come into this?

When you look after yourself on the inside it shows on the outside. I’m talking about the way our skin glows, how bright our eyes are, how our hair grows and shines, the energy we put out and attract back, how it affects our mood too!

3 simple steps people can do right now to make a change to healthier eating?

80% whole foods, 20% soul foods (personally love this and works well for me).

Drink your water!! (yes I am classing this in eating haha)

Eat the rainbow & a variety of it. Think deeper into food – think of how it’s going to nourish your body, the fuel it gives, how good you feel after. Food is more than ‘just calories’ and you should be enjoying it.

Craziest thing about being Bec?

I can be very structured and organised but then have this spontaneous wild side that comes out randomly. Generally, it catches me by surprise too haha.

I feel like I have a few –

You can always change things you don’t like in your life to suit what you do want. If you can’t change it, how can you change your reaction to it?

Surround yourself with good energy, good people, remove anything that doesn’t bring you joy.
